(DWTD's) Top 10 EP's of 2015

(DWTD's) Top 10 EP's of 2015

This is a list of the 10 EP's i've found enjoyable enough to call top tens.

#10

Artist: Witness
Album: Downcast
Genre: Downtempo Deathcore
Label: Unsigned

Why:

This is basically your standard downtempo deathcore release until u hear track 1 and u hear there magical cleans that don't usually get put in this genre. Granted its only track 1 that has cleans but that was enough to get be hooked.

Artist: 'Sabella
Album: Perennial
Genre: Downtempo Deathcore
Label: Unsigned

Why:

Another standard downtempot act. But i like the way he uses tortured like vocals it brings a fear to the listener making it seem like hes insane. Gives a creepy feel which is pretty sick in this guys opinion.

Artist: Despite Exile
Album: Disperse
Genre: Progressive Deathcore/Death Metal
Label: Lifeforce Records

Why:

Prog Death Metal like deathcore goodness. Album cover reminds me of Allegaeon which is kinda what these guys sound like just not as intense but still very good. Album was great with technicality and heavyness.

Artist: Picturesque
Album: Monstrous Things
Genre: Post-Hardcore
Label: Equal Vision Records

Why:

Yes im a sucker for girly type singing i mean im a Sleeping With Sirens & Pierce the Veil fan. So this band got me right into the listening seat. Catchy lines and beautiful singing could get any man who likes the genre into it. Picturesque does it well with their "Debut" (Debut being signed to a label. they had other stuff for free before).

Artist: The Devil Wears Prada
Album: Space
Genre: Metalcore
Label: Rise Records

Why:

Yes like everyone else in the world im a TDWP fan. Granted i honestly wasn't a huge fan after Zombie. i believed that was their last best release. That being said when i heard they were doing another themed ep like zombie and it had to do with space i figured it be good. It goes without saying that it was very good. Has the heavy element and the cleans we all enjoyed from these guys. Only sad thing is that... well... its uber short...

Artist; Blind Witness
Album: I Am Hell
Genre: Deathcore
Label: Unsigned

Why:

Okay first off how amazing is it when a band u liked that was considered dead years ago decides to make a return? Well Blind Witness was one of those for me. Deathcore masters back in 2008-2010 they decided to go silent then finally released this. Needless to say i bought this as soon as i saw it was up (I stayed up till midnight for it). Deathcore standard heaviness with a vengeance.

Artist: Current
Album: Life//Lost
Genre: Progressive Metalcore
Label: Unsigned

Why:

Man this album is heavy. Its if This Or the Apocalypse & Novelists had a child. Has amazing heavy riffs and guitar that bring a melodicey ambience to it. Its hard to explain and im not the best writer at all by any means you can tell if u made it this far down the post haha. Anyways album is uber good and i gurantee if u like TOTA or Novelists or anything heavy with awesome guitar and boss vocals this is for you.

Artist: Darke Complex
Album: Widow
Genre: Nu Metal/Deathcore/Downtempo
Label: Unsigned

Why:

Okay this is i think one of few times that Downtempo is mixed with Nu metally askpects and is really good and original. You listen to them and are like great a normal downtempo band then it hits u with some weird erie cleans and your like the fuck? or maybe some MC type of vocals and your again thinking... The fuck is this im hearing? Anyway Ep is original in everyway as for the Downtempo genre. Id for sure give this a huge listen.

Artist: The Afterimage
Album: Lumiere
Genre: Progressive Metalcore/Post-Hardcore
Label: Tragic Hero Records

Why:

This... Words cannot describe the beauty about this EP... No Seriously i cant really think of much to say other then what an amazing EP. It has progressive technicality enough to make you air guitar and cleans and vocals that make u imagine the vocalists in front of you playing. I've listened to this EP over and over and... Errhem... Over once again. Its that amazing to me.
